ASHLAND CERT Volunteers needed!

CERT will support a local neighborhood in performing an evacuation. This neighborhood has worked diligently together with feedback from AF&R and are ready to practice their plans. CERT volunteers are needed to evaluate key components of the efforts in the simulated drill. You will be provided with all the details in advance, and a briefing before ‘go time.’ We ask that you stay for the hotwash and turn in your completed evaluation sheets. This is likely to culminate well before 2pm, but I need commitment from folks.

If you still need to fulfill your volunteer requirements for the year this event counts towards those minimum requirements for active membership. This neighborhood has a total of 225 residential units. The ‘players’ will be reporting to an evacuation destination after completing their duties as defined in their neighborhood emergency operations plan. This is a true learning experience to witness how neighbors can come together and assist in preparedness.

Please RSVP by Friday the 13th if you can support this CERT sponsored effort on Saturday, September 21. Your volunteerism will not go unappreciated.
