Wildfire shelters managed by State - New shelter hotline is 833-669-0554
posted 3 days ago by RVCOADjst from United Way of Jackson County
Effective January 1, 2021, the temporary hotel shelters previously managed by the Red Cross are now operated by the Oregon Dept of Human Services. Wildfire survivors should call 833-669-0554 for help with hotel or meal issues. When you call, the operator will ask you several questions so they can route your call to the staff that can best meet your needs. You may get a voice message if there are more calls than operators can answer. If that happens, please leave a message.
Going forward, please do not call the Red Cross wildfire hotline for hotel and meal questions. Red Cross staff will no longer be calling sheltered survivors every 72 hours. Instead, a ODHS shelter liaison will be assigned to each sheltered survivor, and will reach out to survivors regularly. This State shelter liaison will become survivors' primary contact for hotel and meal issues.
Survivors may call the Wildfire Transition Assistance Hotline (833-669-0554) at any time with questions or concerns about temporary shelter. Questions can also be sent by email to WildFires.2020@dhsoha.state.or.us.
