§ Starting Wednesday, April 21, the Jackson County Pilot Community Vaccination Center (CVC) will join Jackson County Public Health’s current vaccination site at the Expo, 1 Peninger Rd, Central Point to accelerate COVID-19 vaccinations to historically underserved communities in and around Jackson County at high risk of infection.
§ Masks are required and social distancing will be maintained throughout the site.
§ Vaccinations are free and available to all individuals. There is no requirement to provide photo ID, proof of residency, or insurance coverage.
§ The Community Vaccination Center is a safe place open to all individuals eligible for a vaccination.
The Expo, 1 Peninger Rd, Central Point
§ Drive-thru clinic:
o Enter at Gate #5
o Hours: 7 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday – Thursday and 12-7 p.m. Friday–Tuesday.
o Providing the Pfizer vaccine.
§ Walk-thru clinic:
o Enter at Gate #2
o Hours: 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday – Friday.
o Providing the Moderna vaccine.
o Wheelchairs are available if extra mobility supports are needed.
§ Telephonic language interpreting and on-site Spanish interpreters are available.
§ Real-time American Sign Language (ASL) interpreting services are available through on-demand Video Remote Interpreting (VRI) on personal phone or on-site devices.
§ Assistive hearing and vision devices are available upon request.
Plan Your Visit
§ The Jackson County Expo Pilot CVC is primarily a drive-thru vaccination center, but individuals may also walk up to the site. Vaccinations are free and available to all individuals. There is no requirement to provide photo ID, proof of residency, or insurance coverage.
o Public transportation: the nearest stop (.7 miles from the Expo) is serviced by Rogue Valley Transit bus route #40 at North 3rd Street, South of 10th Street.
o Paratransit: Translink Brokerage and Valley Lift Program provide service to the walk-thru site location only.
§ Individuals are encouraged to register for an appointment online at jcorcovid19.org/VaccineAppointments or call 2-1-1 for information in English or Spanish. Registration is also available onsite.
§ Mobile vaccination delivery locations and hours will be available and updated on https://jacksoncountyor.org/hhs/Home.
About the Jackson County Pilot CVC
§ The Jackson County Pilot CVC will join Jackson County Public Health’s current vaccination site at the Expo, expanding vaccine capacity by an additional 1,000 doses per day of Pfizer vaccine provided directly by the federal government, in addition to the ongoing Jackson County delivery of Moderna vaccine.
§ The additional vaccine provided by the federal government will not be taken from Oregon’s or Jackson County’s regular allotments.
§ The Jackson County Pilot CVC will not deliver the Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) vaccine at this time.
§ When considering options, the best vaccine is the one that is available to you.
§ The Pilot CVC and mobile vaccination units are a joint effort by FEMA, Oregon Health Authority, Oregon Office of Emergency Management, Jackson County Health and Human Services, Jackson County Emergency Management, and Providence Health & Services.
